Visual Basic.NET - From Handheld Devices to Internet Applications.
Microsoft.NET will enable developers to create applications that fully
harness the connectivity of the Internet and minimize building
infrastructure aross multiple devices.
With Visual Studio.NET and .NET Framework developers will be able to
increase productivity by minimizing code writing and leveraging existing
investments to get applications to market faster at a reduced cost.
A unified programming model and integrated infrastucture withing the OS
dramatically speeds the development process for developers where
applications built with .NET Framework are automatically Internet enabled
and can easily be transformed into Web services.
As the Developer Tools Marketing Manager, Michael Flynn is responsible for
creating and implementing strategic marketing programs for all the developer
tools in the Visual Studio suite of products. Products in the suite include:
Visual Basic, Visual C++, Visual J++, Visual InterDev and Visual FoxPro.
Mr. Flynn brings to Microsoft 16 years of computer industry experience. He began
building personal computers at various organizations. He then worked for Nestle
Enterprises as a network analyst where he developed applications for personal
computers and digital VAX systems. He also worked at Compaq Canada where he was
responsible for approximately $500 million in computer hardware and software sales
over a four-year period. As a developer, Michael has created more than two-dozen
software applications for numerous organizations in Canada and the U.S. and has
managed a team of software developers while working in the television broadcasting
industry. High profile projects he has worked on include the design of the hardware
platforms for ChaptersGlobe.ca and the Information Highway exhibit at the Ontario
Science Centre.
He has been a keynote speaker at Comdex Toronto and has spoken at Comdex Vancouver
and numerous government and IT conferences.
